Sorry I am so late in posting the photo for the free pre-order special.
This is the free pattern packet/tag kit that will be included with all pre-orders for the new book on orders placed through Feb. 28th. www.plumpurdy.com
I am so happy to wrap up the new book! It will go to print next week. I have posted the book on my web-site, along with all the wood cut-outs on my site for pre-order, along with a pre-order special that will run through Feb. 28th. The new book will begin shipping March 1st, upon my return from the Creative Painting convention in Las Vegas.
I’m on the finishing touches for the new book and it will be printed in time for the Creative Painting convention in Las Vegas the end of the month.
The mini wreath designs (pattern packets) that I designed and released this past August did so well, and I had so many requests for more designs, that I devoted an entire book to the mini wreath designs.
The title of the book will be “Mini Seasons”…. and has MANY designs for all the seasons and holidays throughout the year. There are 12 mini wreath designs included in the book….one for each month, to keep you busy all year long!
These designs can be enlarged for larger wreaths, or enlarged to fit many different surfaces. A changeable welcome sign or yard signs are two great items these can be used for! Great for craft shows! The designs can also be reduced for pins!
And YEAAAHHHH!! I finally designed a Turkey, St. Patrick’s Day desgin, and something for Valentines Day! These designs have been lacking in my work, never have designed for these holidays.
I will have the book with all the photos of the designs, along with a Pre-Order special, up on my site by the end of the week for PRE-ORDER. The new book will be released at convention and will start shipping when I return the following Monday after convention.
Here is one of the projects in the book…. I am going to paint this on a denim apron for Lil’ Chloe along with her name in the center of the heart.
I wasn’t going to put up all of my trees this year since I am so busy trying to get ready for convention, but the holiday season just got the best of me!
Here are a few of my trees. I put up a gingerbread/peppermint candy tree on the island in the kitchen.
I decorate the living room tree in Reds and Golds with lots of pointsettas, fruits, bulbs and misc.
We are down to the last few days of shipping before Christmas.
I will be taking a few days off for the holidays and Monday December 21st will be the last day I will ship orders until after Christmas.
I will be offering “Free Shipping” on Pattern Packets, Books, Stencils, and Stamps beginning Tuesday, December 15th thru Friday, December 18th on the web-site or via phone orders. Retail only.
Come by and take advantage of many other specials at Plum Purdy!
These will be offered in the best photopolymer material as Clear stamps as well as the best deep etched Red Rubber.
Thanks for all of your very kind comments posted to me on my blog today!
For those of you who were wondering about the Kitty Feeder project, and if it would be available in a pattern packet….. It will eventually be released in a pattern packet, but not until after the class is held at the Creative Painting Convention. More info about the convention can be viewed at their site. Looks like they will start taking registrations tomorrow on 6-10.

I love your snowmen – that’s a given but how about a build your own gingerbread house. You could make a “blank” gingerbread house outline and then all of the fun little goodies to decorate it? Keep up the great work…
I was so excited to see someone use my stamps so quickly after receiving them and then sharing their creation with me.
This project is just TOO darn cute!… Janny used the Bumble Bear Collection to create a festive picnic basket for the 4th of July!
Thanks Janny for letting me share your wonderful work! You can see more of Janny’s wonderful work on her blog….
I thought you might like to see how creative you can be with a basic line drawing from one of my designs.
Alessia from Italy was so kind to send me a few photos of the “When’s Dinner” project from my book “Garden Spice…and everything nice”.
The original design was painted on a long tin pail, but Alessia enlarged the design and painted a JUMBO “When’s Dinner” for her son’s room. Isn’t it adorable??!! Love it! Thanks Alessia for sending me your photos and letting me post them. You did a wonderful job on this project!
I’ve had my Fall and Halloween Stamps for weeks but am just now finding time to get them up on the site between deadlines for convention.
Fall is my favorite time of year and I am SO happy that it’s right around the corner! I hope you are in the Fall and Halloween mood….come take a peek. Here is one of the Fall stamps. Katrina Menzies was so nice to make a sample for me using this stamp. She does great work!

I will be sending out newsletters tomorrow, but a heads up…..

I thought I would share a wonderful project that Vickie B. painted from a design in the book “Garden Spice“. This glove design was originally painted as a planter box but Vickie enlarged it, added all kinds of cute garden pieces and made a wonderful summer wreath from it. Thanks Vickie for sharing! Vickie has a website of some really neat handpainted items!
It’s getting down to the wire and I am working 20 hours a day it seems to finish up and get ready for convention. I look forward to HOOT every year as many of you do…. I am hoping that you will be able to attend this year. I have information on my web-site about HOOT.
For those of you who will not be able to attend convention, you will be able to join in on your computer for “Convention Time Fun”. I will post the new items on my web-site the day of convention and have daily give-aways just as I do at convention here on my blog….. Thanks everyone!
Hi everyone!…. New book and pattern packets are up on the site ready for ordering. I hope you will find lots of new things you will want to paint!
I am giving a FREE snowman pin kit with every purchase of the new book.
We are here at convention and all ready to go. Last night was preview night for the registered guests (those who are here taking classes). It was a fun night. Everyone was excited to see new things….
Convention Fun…. We are giving away a little freebie with every purchase at convention, so join in the fun. With every purchase through convention time on my web-site, I will be giving away a “Winter Sweets” freebie. It is a little gingerbread magnet. You could also add a pin back to it if you wanted to use it as a pin. I will automatically send this with orders that I receive through Saturday.
Today we will try and take some photos to post of convention….also of the “Make and Take” we are offering in our booth. We are stamping a fall design, painting it with Acrylics, and assembling into a tag/ornament. Fun..Fun….
I guess you all thought I may have fallen off the edge of the earth by now….but I’ve been burning the candle at both ends filling orders with the new update and can finally say that I am ALL caught up! (purdy much) whewwwww…. For those who have ordered and have not received their order by now, please e-mail and check the status. Sometimes with the load of orders that come through with a new release, there can be a few to fall through the cracks somehow.
Thanks so much for all the orders on the new book and pattern packets! Looks like from what I shipped out, you should be busy until next year!….LOL… I hope you really enjoy painting the new designs!
Convention was great as always and it’s such fun to be able to see everyone again each year. I hope those who were able to attend had loads of fun!
Thanks to all the help I had in my booth this year (Jeff & Sherry from Cabin Crafters, and my friends Diane Rudolph and Sharon Sprout) I was able to set up a make and take table. We stamped a wonderful little tag and I taught the technique of painting the stamped image with Acrylic paints and Faux Glazing Medium. FUN, FUN!! I hope to have a Make and Take again.
Thank you Kathy J. for the WONDERFUL message you sent my way last week. I appreciate all the kind words you had for me. I find true friendships are always appreciated. You always have a “way with words”….and I always know where you are coming from.
The past few weekends I have been able to relax had have everyone over for family cookouts. My son’s 31st birthday was this past Friday. I don’t feel too old until I realize how old my kids are!….LOL…. I know Grandma has not posted any photos of little Chloe lately. She’s growing like Jack’s Magic Bean Stalk!! She’s not a little baby anymore…..booo hoooo… (time for another!). She’s developing her own little personality that will just melt your heart. She LOVES blowing bubbles and loves her sandbox/swimming pool that Grandma has sitting in the corner of the deck.
Today is the first day of FALL….and fall always brings warm and happy feelings for me. I just love fALL time! ….and Halloween will be right around the corner too!
I will be launching a special today, so if you are reading my blog, you will be the first to know
I have brought in some paper mache sets for the holidays. They consist of a set of (3) round boxes, 4″, 5″, and 6″. What great sizes to paint up for just decorations or for Halloween treat boxes for that favorite secret pal, family, kids, teacher… and fill with all kinds of goodies.
A wonderful painter and friend of mine, Vickie Briningstool from NC, has painted a set of the boxes for me using a Halloween pattern packet that I will also be offering on sale. It’s wonderful to see all the different ways you can use a design. This design was actually a design for a small lamp and what a wonderful painting I have to show you that she has adapted the design for!
I am also offering the 9″ Fluted White Wash Tin Plates on special through Oct. 15th. Vickie has adapted the same pattern design by enlarging and painting on the tin. What an awsome piece to display on a plate easel for Halloween!
The SPECIAL will run through Oct. 15th and I will have the sets of (3) round PAPER MACHE BOXES and the 9″ FLUTED WHITE WASHED TINS on special for 25% off retail. The Witchy Lamp pattern will be discounted also! Reg. $8.50 now on special through Oct. 15th for $4.25. You have plenty of time to get all your Halloween painting done, so pick up your brushes and let’s go!!
Happy Fall everyone!
It’s been quite awhile since I’ve been able to design any projects for the painting publications, but I do have a new design that is in the current December 2009 issue of “Quick & Easy Painting”. If you are unable to find this magazine in your local area, you can order a copy today from Cabin Crafters. They also offer the wood surface for this project. I hope you will try your hand at the new project…. it is really QUICK and EASY…..
I know, I know…. Why am I always behind. I wish someone would bottle up some “time in a bottle”. I would be the first in line for the purchase!
Anywho… many of you have asked if I am going to be designing any Christmas & Winter stamps…. You bet! In fact, one of the stamps is the Jolly fella from the painting project that is in Q&E December issue….so if you like the design but don’t paint…. you can STAMP it!! Not only would this design make a wonderful Christmas Card, but wouldn’t this design be so cute for a gift tag?
I hope to have the new stamps up on my web-site for sale next week. Thanks for being so patient with me!
The New Christmas and Winter Stamps are now on my web-site. Hope you will come by and see a stamp or two that you would love to play with!
For those of you that have been trying to use the coupon code for the stamp special, there was a glitch for a while in the assigned catagory…. BUT, it’s now working…. Sorry for the trouble it may have caused.
Now talk about a lot of work! I can’t imagine how many hours went into this project! Isn’t it wonderful??!!
Joanie Dawdy painted these blocks from all of my winter/snowman designs from various books and pattern packets for her chapter’s Annual Chris Cringle Craft Show’s quilt raffle and her friend pieced and quilted it for her.
Over the past few years I have licensed some of my designs. One of my “kitty” designs was selected by Evergreen flag company for a winter flag that will be distributed throughout the USA. I was really excited to see it appear on many of the decorative flag web-sites over the past few days! I always love to display a little garden flag next to my lamp post. Here is a photo of the winter flag…
Several of you have asked for links to this flag. There are several on-line web-sites that have it up on their site for sale….here are a few of them. Some have both the Large Flag and the small Garden Flag.
Just For Fun Flags
Flags On A Stick
Flags R Us
I had the pleasure of speaking with a fairly new painter the other day and it brought back memories of the excitement I had when I first started to learn how to paint.
Stephany is from the Dominican Replublic and has lived in the USA for the past three years. She discovered the world of decorative painting when she moved to the USA and she says “she never wants to stop painting”.
This is a project from my book “Garden Spice…and everything nice” that she recently completed…. I think she did a wonderful job!
Thanks Cindy for sending me your photos! What a wonderful project Cindy was involved in. She was in charge of decorating one of the tables for her Snowbirds Chapter luncheon. She used pattern packet #2040 Witchy Lamp and enlarged the line drawing to fit the plates and on the seat of the chair. She enlarged the star ornament from pattern packet #2038 Witchy Ornaments and hung around the top of the chair, which reads “The Witch Is In”. I think the table is absolutely adorable! Here are some of the photos of her project.
I got a chuckle out of the e-mail and photos that my dear friend Bernice Dupre sent to me. She had started painting one of my suitcase designs when she noticed a BIG boo boo… (As you will see in the photos below, she accidently transferred the design upside down on the surface and had started painting her project. She painted over what she had base painted with Black and re applied the line drawing and started over. You couldn’t tell from the end results that there were any problems… Her finished project came out beautiful!
Moral of story…. Just about anything is fixable on your painting projects. So many get fustrated because they think they have ruined their project when they have made a mistake….but mistakes can almost always be fixed!!
PAINTER’S BLOG CANDY… Leave a post about how you have corrected a painting mistake! I will draw a name on Monday, November 16th. The winner will receive (1) free pattern packet of their choice from my web-site.
Thanks everyone for sharing how you deal with fixing your crafting mistakes! I am sure we learned a little from everyone!
The winner was drawn and it is Nancy Carney.
Congratulations Nancy! Pick any pattern packet off my web-site.
Here’s a design that I have been working on this week…. hope you like it! It’s painted on a 9″ Wooden Memo Clip. I scanned the memo clip for a crisp photo, so the specks you see on the moon and on the snow that is on top of the candy cane is actually Jo Sonja Opal Dust (glitter). It’s really cute with the little touch of sparkle.
I will be offering this as a free downloadable pattern on my site within the next few days. I also just received the 9″ memo clips and will list them for sale on my site.
I have discovered so many painting friends over on my facebook page since I signed up last week! Come on over and join the fun! Natalia sent me an e-mail with some wonderful photos of projects she has painted. With Natalia’s permission, I just had to show you her “oh sooooo cute” creations. She used several of my kitty designs and came up with book ends. She used the kitty design from pattern packet “#108 Little Winter Shovels” and the kitty design from my book “Garden Spice…and everything nice”.
Natalia’s home country is Russia. She now lives in Bogota Columbia with her husband and son. To see more of her wonderful works visit her web-shots page!
Thanks Natalia! I look forward to seeing more of your beautiful works!
Stamps are on sale beginning today and will run through Sunday… great time to stock up and save. Pick up a few for your stamping friend’s stocking for a great little stocking stuffer…. Need to get started on those Christmas Cards too!
Be creative and make your own gift tags this year…and have fun at the same time. Great way for those who like to paint to practice painting stamped images… I have several cute little Gingerbread stamps that would work perfect to be used on gift tags for the Christmas treats you will be giving to family, friends, teachers, co-workers. Think “handmade from the heart” this year.
For all the painters that have wondered about painting a stamped design, I have put together a little “How To Paint A Stamped Image” and it is now available as a free download on my web-site under “How To Articles” on the left side-bar. Give it a try….FUN, FUN!
Lori Geninazza, from Switzerland, sent me a few photos of the Christmas projects she has painted this year. She enlarged several of my patterns and made huge outdoor decorations for her yard. LOVE all the snow around Santa & Rudy!! Wish she could pack and send me some of that! And the Folk Art Nativity pattern has always sold well, but I never even thought of enlarging it to use outside. I must get started on mine for next year!!
Thanks Lori for sharing your projects!
